Email support ↗Install the beta
- Visual Learner is currently invitation-only. If you have been invited, install Apple’s TestFlight app on your iPhone or iPad.
- Open the TestFlight invitation email on that device and accept the invitation.
- When an approved build is available, choose Install beside Visual Learner in TestFlight.
You need iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Beta builds can expire, and an invitation may arrive before a new build is available. If TestFlight shows no available build, email us. You do not need an Apple developer membership or Developer Mode.
Choose your languages
Tap the gear in the library or the globe in the reader. Choose English, Polish or French as your learning language, then choose a different translation language. “Swap languages” switches the pair. Your choices are remembered on this device. Navigation and settings labels are currently in English.
Read, translate and save
Open the story from the library. Use the arrows to move between pages or the contents button to jump to a scene. Tap Translation to reveal the same page in your translation language. Tap an underlined word or a vocabulary button to open its picture, meanings and pronunciation controls.
Use “Save this word” to keep a vocabulary entry. Open the bookmark button in the library to revisit saved words. Tap the save control again to remove a word. Your last reading position is saved automatically.
Listening and offline use
I can’t hear anything.
Check the device’s media volume and whether sound is playing through connected headphones, a speaker or AirPlay. Try another word or page. If the app reports that a language voice is unavailable, use your device’s Accessibility speech settings to install a voice for that language, then reopen the app.
Does the app need an internet connection?
Reading, translations, illustrations and saved vocabulary work offline. Speech depends on the voices installed on your device. Installing the app, downloading voices, sending feedback and opening this website require a connection.
Why does the voice sound different on another device?
Visual Learner uses Apple’s available system speech voices. Installed voices and operating-system versions can affect pronunciation and voice quality. Let us know the language, word, device and OS version if something sounds wrong.
Send useful feedback
Use TestFlight’s feedback tools or email us. Include the app version/build, device model, operating-system version, story page, language pair, what you expected and what happened. If possible, include steps we can follow. Remove private information from screenshots before sharing them.
Privacy and local data
There is no Visual Learner account to delete. Bookmarks, language choices and saved words are held on the device. Deleting the app removes its local data; offloading the app keeps data, and restoring a backup may restore it. For beta-record or support-email requests, contact support@splitlight.co.uk. See the privacy policy for details.
